Job Description

Tarleton State University invites applications for the position of Assistant/Associate Tenure-Track Professor in the College of Kinesiology and Sport Science, Department of Sport Professions. This is a 9-month tenure-track position located on Tarleton’s main campus in Stephenville, Texas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

80% Teaching and Service

• Plan, prepare, and deliver lectures, seminars, and/or laboratory offerings to undergraduate and/or graduate students.
• Develop course syllabi, select instructional materials, and design assessments.
• Assess student performance and provide academic support and guidance.
• Collaborate with colleagues and participate in institutional service roles.

20% Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity

• Maintain an active research agenda.
• Make original contributions through scholarly publication, presentation, or exhibition.
• Demonstrate potential for external funding.

Minimum Requirements

• Earned doctorate/terminal degree in the teaching discipline from an accredited university.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.

Preferred Requirements

• Ph.D. in Sport Management, Kinesiology, or a closely related field.
• Experience teaching graduate courses.
• Experience to warrant hiring at the rank of Associate Professor.
