Assistant Producer (Multimedia), Faculty of Science

Job Description

The Faculty of Science is seeking a qualified candidate for multimedia content production. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for visual storytelling, strong filming, photography and editing skills, and the ability to craft and produce compelling short- and long-form video content for different channels / media.

Key Responsibilities

  • Video production and editing: Plan, film and edit original, high-quality video content, with a primary focus on social media videos and reels, and secondary support for bespoke corporate videos
  • Social media video content: Produce short-form, platform-appropriate videos for the Faculty’s social media platforms, ensuring content is visually engaging and timely
  • Photography and videography: Shoot and edit photos and videos for social media, events, publicity assets and other communication needs
  • Specialised production support: Assist team members in specialised video shoots with technical requirements such as lighting, composition and strong visual treatment
  • Production coordination: Plan, schedule and coordinate video and photography shoots, including liaising with stakeholders, talents and relevant parties to ensure smooth production arrangements. This includes sourcing and booking suitable venues, arranging shoot logistics and ensuring that production requirements are met
  • Equipment and talent management: Manage and maintain production equipment, ensure that equipment is properly organised, handled and kept in good working condition. The candidate will also support talent coordination and shoot arrangements in accordance with the team’s in-house SOPs
  • Post-production workflow: Carry out editing, colour correction, audio clean-up, subtitling, basic motion graphics and other post-production tasks in accordance with the team’s production SOPs and branding guidelines

Secondary Job Scope

The candidate is also required to work with the team in other areas, which include but are not limited to the following:

  • Events management: Support the team in events logistics for key events such as Open Houses, Faculty-level events and other outreach activities
  • Digital communications: Assist in preparing digital content across relevant platforms, where required
  • Stakeholder database management: Assist the team to reach out to potential content owners, newsmakers and talents to support outreach and communications
  • Multimedia asset management: Organise project files, footage, photos and other production materials in accordance with the team’s workflow and archiving practices
  • Other administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements/Other Info

  • Relevant diploma- or degree-level qualifications. Those with no full-time experience but who possess a strong portfolio with relevant freelance experience are also welcome to apply.
  • Strong interest and competency in filming, editing and multimedia content production
  • Competencies in photo and video editing software, with Adobe suite highly preferred
  • Good sense of visual storytelling, pacing, composition, sound and social media-friendly content formats
  • Able to utilise AI tools to complement and enhance production quality
  • Highly organised, timeline-driven and able to manage multiple projects
  • A meticulous eye for detail
  • Able to work independently with stakeholders and talents to plan and execute shoots
  • Familiarity with the Nikon camera system is preferred. Candidates who are not already familiar should be willing and able to learn and adapt to the ecosystem.
