Assistant Professor - Academic Movement Disorders Physician - AC Track
The Department of Neurology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of Parkinson's disease, related disorders and other movement disorders. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. The successful candidate must be board certified or eligible in Neurology.
Teaching responsibilities may include the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows, as well as formal lecture opportunities within the department.
Clinical responsibilities may include out-patient consultations and ongoing care of patients with Movement Disorders. Expertise with botulinum toxin injection and management of neurostimulators is strongly encouraged. Supervision of residents clinic and a minor component of inpatient care of general neurology patients (approximately 1-2 weeks per year) may be required. Clinical care will be primarily at Pennsylvania Hospital, but some coverage of satellite clinics in suburban locations may be available.
Participation as a site investigator in clinical trials is encouraged. Collaboration on research publications is encouraged but not required. Completion of fellowship in Movement Disorders preferred.
