Position Qualifications
An earned Ph.D. in Political Science or a related field is required for the position; ABD candidates are invited to apply. Qualified applicants will demonstrate their ability to teach an introductory American politics course as well as upper-level environmental politics courses and other courses that connect with their research and complement subjects already represented among American politics scholars in the department, initiate and sustain original research and scholarship in their area(s) of expertise, and contribute to an academic environment that fosters learning and growth for all its stakeholders.

Interested applicants are invited to submit the following materials through Interfolio, at https://apply.interfolio.com/190082: (1) a cover letter that outlines interest in and qualifications for the position; (2) a CV; (3) a statement that describes the applicant’s approach to teaching students across a wide and varied spectrum of values, identities, skills, and professional ambitions, as well as their experience leading undergraduate courses and any future teaching interests; (4) a statement that describes the applicant’s research, scholarly, and/or creative production agenda, particularly in the context of the current state of the discipline/field, (5) evidence of teaching engagement and effectiveness (this should include a syllabus from an introductory-level class and an upper-level class the applicant would offer to teach at Wake Forest and can also include syllabi from course(s) the applicant may have already taught as well as student and/or peer teaching evaluations from these courses); (6) one writing sample (this could be a dissertation chapter, published or unpublished article, book chapter, or conference paper); and (7) three confidential letters of recommendation.
