Ideal applicants will be employing molecular/cellular, neurobiological, genetic and/or clinical research approaches to the study of neuromuscular disease, including but not limited to ALS and other neuromuscular disorders. Successful candidates will have track records of creativity and productivity, demonstrated potential for outstanding future achievement, and a desire to participate in an exciting, interactive, and rapidly growing neuroscience and neurological disease research community. The successful candidate will be expected to mount a productive and innovative research program, obtain extramural funding, and actively participate in graduate student, medical student, and resident education. They will be able to leverage existing resources and strengths of UCI Health and its campus partners, including the Institute for Clinical and Translational Sciences, Sue and Bill Gross Stem Cell Research Center (SCRC), and graduate and resident training programs in the neurosciences and biomedical sciences.
