Job Details
The College of Business & Information Systems at Dakota State University invites applications for two full-time (9-month) tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in business. Qualified individuals will contribute to DSU’s graduate and undergraduate business programs through excellence in teaching, research and scholarship, and service as well as a willingness to collaborate in all phases of academic life. The successful candidate may be assigned to teach courses at both the graduate and undergraduate levels in business areas including production and operations management, entrepreneurship, organizational behavior, human resources, business policy and strategy, and leadership. Additional courses from the business administration curriculum may be assigned based on their academic credentials. Courses will be taught on-campus in Madison, SD, and online as needed.
The start date of this position is Fall 2026.
Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D., DBA, DM or equivalent terminal degree in business administration or related business field. (ABD candidates may be considered).
- Effective written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Teach a variety of business courses, both face-to-face and on-line, at the undergraduate and graduate level.
- Create engaging online content for online courses, which should include videos and appropriate assessments.
- Embed relevant technology concepts within curriculum content.
- Research and publish relevant scholarship.
- Active pursuit of grant and funding opportunities.
- Mentor undergraduate and graduate student research.
- Network with scholars and professionals to secure internships and post-graduate opportunities for students.
- Additional duties include advising students, serving on university committees, assisting with recruitment activities, and engaging in ongoing assessment.

About DSU College of Business and Information Systems:
The College of Business and Information Systems offers a PhD in Information Systems and Master of Science degrees in information systems, analytics, and health informatics as well as a master in business administration (MBA) in general management. Undergraduate baccalaureate degrees include computer information systems, artificial intelligence in organizations, business administration, professional accountancy, and business and computer education. The graduate MBA program, the undergraduate BBA with specializations in accounting, business technology, finance, management, and marketing and the associate degree in business management are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). Education programs are accredited by South Dakota Department of Education and The Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).
