Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in either the non-tenure clinician educator track or the tenure track. Expertise is required in the specific area of education, research, and clinical care. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Candidates must be board certified in Pediatrics and/or Gastroenterology.

Teaching responsibilities may include teaching medical students, residents and fellows, and participating in family education days.

Clinical responsibilities may include providing outstanding outpatient, inpatient and procedural care at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and/or its satellites. Candidates must have a reputation as an excellent clinician.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include assisting with augmenting basic, translational and/or clinical research initiatives in liver disease, motility, bile duct development, gastrointestinal allergies, nutrition, inflammatory bowel disease and microbiome research. Evidence of scholarship is required. Clinician Educators are often involved in collaborative, can be independent research, that results in new discoveries/knowledge or extend/advances understanding of knowledge ultimately important to human health/disease. Tenure track faculty are most often involved in independent or innovative collaborative research that results in new discoveries/knowledge or extend/advances understanding of knowledge ultimately important to human health/disease.
