Position Summary
The State University of New York at Cortland plans to hire an Assistant Professor in the Psychology Department to teach courses in psychology (based on department need and the candidate’s specialization), conduct research, and engage in service beginning in Fall 2027.

The Psychology Department at SUNY Cortland offers a B.A. and B.S. in Psychology, a minor in Psychology, a minor in Psychology in Schools, and a minor in Forensic Psychology. Our typical class size is 30, while class sizes in upper division labs and capstone courses tend to be around 12-20. We currently have over 350 Psychology majors and 14 tenure-track faculty with a typical teaching load of 3 courses per semester. Our program is aligned with the American Psychological Association ( APA ) guidelines for an undergraduate psychology major. Faculty have access to modern research and teaching facilities. The department is housed in the original, historically renovated Old Main building.

Starting Salary: $68,900 + depending on experience ( DOE )
