Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience practicing law
- A Ph.D., LL.M., M.B.A. or other graduate degree in business,
economics, or real estate from a college or university accredited
in the United States
- Law review membership, and/or experience as a law clerk at the
appellate level in the United States
- Ability to work collaboratively to support the department and
the college
- Evidence of effective engagement OR potential to engage with a
diverse student body
- Experience using culturally responsive pedagogy that leads to
equitable outcomes for all students
- Experience creating a student-centered learning
environment
- Research/Lab experience that includes working with students
from diverse backgrounds
- Experience adopting inclusive approaches to mentoring
Responsibilities:
The position involves teaching both undergraduate- and
graduate-level courses in business law and, if qualified, real
estate, supporting extra-curricular student engagement, which may
include overseeing student competitions. Faculty members are
expected to employ a variety of teaching strategies to enable
students to think analytically and to communicate effectively. Law
courses are taught using the Socratic method with its goal of
participatory learning and the development of reasoning skills.
Additionally, faculty members are expected to engage actively in
research and publication in their areas of primary teaching
responsibility, maintaining the college's Scholarly Academic
qualification throughout their employment, and provide service to
the University and the community.
