Position:
The College of Education invites applications for an Assistant Professor position in the Department of Early Childhood Education. Preferred start date August 2027.

Qualifications:

• Doctoral degree in early childhood education, reading and literacy, curriculum and instruction, teacher education, or related fields.  

• ABD applicants with on-going progress will be considered if all degree requirements are completed by June 1, 2028.  

• Commitment to excellence in teaching.  

• Evidence of sustained commitment to working in partnership with public schools, children and families and/or other early childhood setting.  

• Expertise in early literacy practices and/or Science of Reading. 

• Demonstrated teaching experience in early literacy. 

• Demonstrated success or potential to teach a wide variety of early childhood and/or gifted education courses at the undergraduate and graduate level.  

• Evidence of strong potential for scholarly productivity, including research publications and conference presentations that are innovative, collaborative, or interdisciplinary.  

• Three or more years’ experience working in public schools, Head Start programs, and/or other early childhood settings. 

Salary and Benefits:
Targeted salary range: $70,000-$72,000 commensurate with experience.
