Assistant Professor in Anatomy (Teaching-Intensive, Tenure-Track)
About the Position
The Department of Kinesiology invites applications for a tenure-track teaching-intensive position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Anatomy beginning July 1, 2026. The workload of a teaching-intensive faculty member shall normally be 60% teaching (equivalent to 6 half courses per academic year), 20% research/scholarly/creative activities and 20% service.
Qualifications
The successful candidate must have a completed doctorate degree, university-level graduate and/or undergraduate teaching experience, and the ability to supervise students in small research projects. Demonstration of a strong record of scholarship is considered an asset.
Specifically, we are looking for a dynamic individual with expertise in gross functional human anatomy and the ability to teach in one or more of the following areas: (1) musculoskeletal anatomy, (2) neuroanatomy and/or (3) advanced anatomy. Experience working with cadaveric specimens is a requirement. Experience with microscopic anatomy and medical imaging modalities as well as an ability to teach anatomy in clinical contexts are assets. The successful candidate should also provide evidence of the ability to work in a transdisciplinary environment and to make contributions to a vibrant group of scholars housed within the Department, Faculty, and University that can extend to the greater Niagara community.
