Assistant Professor in Human Resources
The Dhillon School of Business at the University of Lethbridge is seeking applications for one tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor rank in Human Resources on our Calgary Campus beginning July 1, 2026.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach and engage in research in organizational behaviour and human resources with a preferred focus in one or more of the following domains: organizational culture, organizational change, leadership, or the societal impact of these or other human resource related topics. The successful candidate will also be expected to help teach and supervise students in our graduate programs, such as our research-based M.Sc. in Management and our course-based Masters of Management programs. The instructor will work with other academic staff in the Organizational Behavior and Human Resources Area to continuously improve curriculum and research outcomes.
Applicants should possess a PhD in Human Resources or a related field or be in the final stages of completing their Ph.D. dissertation in these areas; have an active research program in one or more of the specified areas; and experience teaching relevant courses at the University level.
A demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and publishing research in quality journals is required. We also look for individuals who are interested in having demonstrated positive societal impact in their research and teaching. Online and hybrid teaching may be required in addition to in-person teaching, and courses are usually taught evenings and Saturdays, with the possibility of some day-time teaching.
We offer a competitive salary in the range of $95K - $108K, attractive teaching loads, paid study leaves, and a comprehensive benefits package as well as research, travel and teaching support. The course load for a tenure track position is determined by the Dean in consultation with the successful candidate. It is typically a four course load of three credit hour courses per academic year, however this will depend on the needs of the Area and Faculty at the time of assignment. Teaching workload is reviewed and amended annually as needed.
