"Assistant Professor in Industrial Intelligent Agents"

Job Description

We cordially invite applications for Assistant Professor positions from individuals with outstanding research potential in Industrial Intelligent Agents and related fields. Successful candidates will conduct frontier research, join research teams, and participate in the center's core technology initiatives. We particularly welcome scholars with outstanding achievements in areas such as Industrial AI, Intelligent Control Systems, and Industrial Software.

Key Responsibilities

• Scientific Research:
  • Conduct innovative research in core directions of Industrial Intelligent Agents, including but not limited to: Autonomous Decision-Making Systems, Industrial Digital Twins, Intelligent Operation & Maintenance, Advanced Process Control, etc.
  • Actively apply for research grants such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Jiangsu Provincial Natural Science Foundation, and industry-sponsored projects.
  • Publish high-quality academic papers in top-tier international journals and conferences.
• Talent Cultivation:
  • Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Supervise PhD and Master's students.
  • Develop cutting-edge courses and experimental teaching systems related to Industrial Intelligent Agents.
• Academic Service:
  • Participate in the center's important academic activities and international collaboration projects, assisting in enhancing the discipline's influence.
  • Promote the industrial applications of research outcomes, engaging in deep collaboration with the center's partner enterprises.

Qualifications

• Essential Requirements:
  • A Ph.D. (obtained or soon to be obtained) in Automation, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Solid theoretical foundation and outstanding research capabilities, with first-author publications in high-level international journals in related fields.
  • Good teaching potential and communication skills, capable of teaching in English.
  • Team spirit and ability to conduct research independently.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with industrial field projects or familiarity with mainstream industrial software/systems (e.g., DCS, MES, APC).
  • In-depth research in areas such as Reinforcement Learning, Large Language Models, Digital Twins, Predictive Maintenance.
  • Overseas research experience or experience collaborating with industry.

CITIZENSHIP AND VISA REGULATIONS

Employment at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University is regulated by Chinese Labour Laws, and must comply with the regulations of the provincial government. These regulations stipulate who is eligible for legal employment with regard to obtaining work permits and visas. Please be advised candidates over 65 may be not eligible for a work visa in the P.R. China.
