Assistant Professor in Psychology of Education
Post Summary
For over twenty years, post-graduate modules in Psychology of Education have been offered as part of the Master in Education, Professional Master of Education and Bachelor of Music Education degrees. These modules are core to all programmes and are an accreditation requirement for the Professional Master of Education and the Bachelor of Music Education. These programmes are the major flagship programmes of the school and Psychology of Education is a critical component in each of them.
The Assistant Professor in Psychology of Education will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment in the field of Psychology of Education in Trinity College Dublin’s School of Education. The successful candidate will work with well-established teams on our initial teacher education, masters and doctoral programmes in this critical area and support the future development of the field as part of the School's strategic plan. They will have a strong background in Psychology applied to education and be able to demonstrate excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will contribute to the School’s postgraduate taught and research programmes including supervision at masters level. They will undertake research, knowledge generation and dissemination in the field of Psychology applied to education.
Post Status
Specific Purpose Contract
The specific purpose of this employment is to fill a vacancy on a temporary basis pending the return of the postholder from authorised leave. Employment is not offered on an indefinite duration basis as the original postholder is expected to return. If the postholder does not return to work the post will be filled through open competition.
Hours of Post
Hours of work for academic staff are those as prescribed under Public Service Agreements.
Salary
This appointment will be made on the Assistant Professor merged Salary Scale (€43,425 - €103,582 per annum) at a point in line with current Government pay policy.
