Assistant Professor - Mathematics - Tenure Track
The Department of Mathematics, Actuarial Science, & Statistics at the University of Central Missouri (UCM) invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in Mathematics to begin in August 2026. Applicants with a Ph.D. in Mathematics with a specialty in numerical analysis and scientific computing, optimization, and operations research or algebra or topology will be preferred. ABD may be considered, terminal degree required for tenure-track.
The Position: The primary responsibilities of the position include teaching undergraduate and graduate mathematics courses; conducting scholarly research and publishing in peer-reviewed journals; participating in departmental and university committee work; and providing student advising and sponsoring student organizations. The typical teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester, though a reduced teaching load for research and other professional responsibilities may be available.
