In addition to peer-reviewed scholarship, the department welcomes and values work shared in public venues that may fall outside of the traditional spectrum of academic publishing. As the home of Brown’s undergraduate concentrations (i.e., majors) in American Studies and Ethnic Studies, as well as a highly competitive Ph.D. program in American Studies, our department also places a high value on excellent teaching, advising, and mentorship.
