Offer Description
The Department of Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation Psychology at Radboud University has a position for an assistant professor in the field of clinical neuropsychology or neuropsychological rehabilitation. This position involves 50% teaching and 50% research.
We are looking for an assistant professor with a strong research track record in clinical neuropsychology and/or neuropsychological rehabilitation. You should have a patient-oriented research background in neuropsychology, with expertise in clinically relevant research questions such as neuropsychological profiling of patient populations with neurodegenerative disease or brain disorders, cognitive rehabilitation in patients with brain disorders, or the study of the underlying brain-behaviour mechanisms in acquired brain injury.
Your scientific research will focus on clinical neuropsychology and/or neuropsychological rehabilitation, that can be funded through the department’s existing collaborations with regional clinical centres (e.g. Vincent van Gogh Institute for Psychiatry, Klimmendaal Rehabilitation Centre, Radboud university medical center) as well as through new collaborations. Your research will be embedded in the Donders Centre for Cognition, which is part of the Donders Institute. The research aligns with Donders Theme 3 (Development and Lifelong Plasticity). You will be expected to actively apply for grant-based and contract funding that will support the research agenda of the Donders Institute in general and that of the Department of Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation Psychology in particular.
You will be teaching in the field of clinical neuropsychology (i.e. set up, coordinate and lecture in the new Bachelor 3 course in Clinical Neuropsychology), and will supervise Bachelor’s and Master’s thesis projects on topics relevant to neuropsychology (e.g. neuropsychological assessment, rehabilitation, fundamental knowledge). Your teaching will be part of the English-taught Bachelor’s degree programme in Psychology and the Dutch-taught clinical Master’s degree programme in Gezondheidszorgpsychologie (healthcare psychology).
