which students develop full software solutions for real-world clients, is a hallmark of the computer science and software engineering majors. The department’s recent initiatives include the creation of new majors in data science and cybersecurity, as well as a game development track for its software engineering major.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to engaged, student-centered teaching and learning as well as a sincere interest in working with undergraduates in a supportive liberal arts environment. This tenure-track position requires someone who can teach introductory computing courses as well as web development, database, and software engineering courses, including the senior software development project course. We seek a faculty member who is eager to pursue curricular innovation, including the thoughtful integration of AI into the software development process.
The standard teaching load is 24 credit hours per academic year, with additional participation in the College’s distinctive Immersive Term once every three years. In addition to teaching, faculty members are expected to engage in scholarly activity and actively contribute to the life of the College by advising students, supervising internships, serving on committees, and engaging in departmental and institutional initiatives.
Applicants must possess a PhD in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field, or a master’s degree in one of these fields combined with at least five years of relevant professional experience. ABD candidates whose degree is expected by August 2027 will be considered. Evidence of effective teaching, coaching, training, or formal classroom experience is preferred.
