The Department of Economics in the Perdue School of Business at Salisbury University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Economics with a specialization in Macroeconomics. The position begins August 15, 2026. The search will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Teach the macroeconomics sequence, including Principles of Macroeconomics and Intermediate Macroeconomics
- Teach elective courses in the candidate’s area of expertise (e.g., financial economics, money and banking, international economics, labor economics, econometrics)
- The normal teaching load is nine credit hours per semester.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to high-quality undergraduate teaching, student mentoring, and academic advising
- Maintain an active research agenda leading to publication in reputable, peer-reviewed journals consistent with AACSB accreditation standards
- Provide services to departmental, school, and university
Minimum Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Economics (ABD considered; degree must be completed by the start date)
- Potential or demonstrated ability to be an excellent teacher
- Potential or demonstrated ability to publish a steady stream of peer-reviewed scholarly research
Preferred Qualifications:
The preferred candidate will have prior undergraduate teaching experience, demonstrate a willingness to teach in multiple instructional formats and to integrate technology into classroom teaching, along with an interest in supervising undergraduate research and an emerging record of peer-reviewed publications.
Salary and Benefits
- Salary range: $95,000–$105,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience
