Assistant Professor of Marketing
Job Summary
The AACSB-accredited Craig School of Business in the College of Business and Professional Studies at Missouri Western State University invites application for a tenure track, Assistant Professor of Marketing position beginning in Fall 2026 (August).

Assistant Professors are responsible to educate students, engage in original research and creative activities that are published or presented in peer-reviewed settings.
Essential Job Duties
Duties for tenure-track faculty include performance of activities corresponding with the teaching, research, and service expectations for the department and college. We seek colleagues with disciplinary expertise in marketing, evidence of exceptional teaching, the potential for scholarly productivity, and a commitment to collaboration with the region and community.
- Teaching: teach undergraduate and graduate students in a specific field of expertise; participation in programs that promote instructional development in the discipline; develop and manage curricular materials, ensuring that they meet departmental and university standards; participation in campus initiatives related to teaching such as learning communities, honors programs, and applied learning.
- Scholarship: engage in scholarly and creative activities leading to peer-reviewed artifacts, performances, and/or exhibitions including basic research or creative expression, reviews and/or integrates prior research, applies current knowledge and innovations to important practices, and focuses on the nature and improvement of teaching.
- Service: document students’ attendance, participation, and academic progress by giving and grading assignments, projects, quizzes and/or examinations that lead to a final grade; plan and create lectures, in-class activities, and assignments; maintain currency in one’s area of expertise and discipline; provide academic advising and support related to the academic progress of students; is accessible to students outside the classroom, providing ample periods of time for counseling and mentoring students in matters related to academic success; engage in service activities in support of departmental, college, and university needs; service supporting community outreach; and service to relevant.
Successful candidates will: Demonstrate disciplinary expertise in marketing. Exhibit existing and potential scholarly productivity as well as the desire to collaborate with colleagues and the regional industry and community. Exhibit a desire to serve diverse undergraduate and adult learners through innovative teaching and advising. Demonstrate a willingness to serve on department committees, attend department meetings. Work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students from a wide range of disciplines, cultures, and academic backgrounds.
Required Qualifications
- Doctorate in Marketing or a closely-related field (ABD considered), or an AACSB-accepted Terminal Degree (DBA) in a closely related field.
- Must demonstrate a record of scholarly or professional achievement, and demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills.
- Experience teaching elements of Marketing or applied business experience.
- Experience teaching undergraduate or adult learners.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Evidence of teaching courses such as Digital Marketing, Advertising and Promotion and Marketing Research, Consumer Behavior, Principles of Marketing or Sales.
- Online teaching experience.
