Job Description

The Department of Nutrition and Health, College of Medicine and Health Sciences at the United Arab Emirates University invites applicants for a full-time faculty position in Human Nutrition at the Assistant Professor rank. The successful candidate must demonstrate research capabilities with experiences in human nutrition, clinical nutrition, community nutrition, and wellness, leading to impactful publications. The candidate must have demonstrated skills in developing and teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in human nutrition and dietetics, including, nutrition through the life cycle, nutritional epidemiology, community nutrition, and nutritional metabolism. Candidates should be able to provide evidence of successful teaching practices, including student learning outcome assessment methods, use of technology-based teaching tools, as well as advising and supervision of graduate and undergraduate students. The successful candidate will interact closely with health agencies/organizations and develop programs for the benefit of the community. He/she will be also required to serve in the Department, College, and University committees, as appointed.

Minimum Qualification

Ph.D. in Human Nutrition or a closely related field and teaching experience of undergraduate and graduate level courses.

Preferred Qualification

Ph.D. in Human Nutrition or closely related and teaching experience in human nutrition courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels, mentoring graduate students, and a track record of impactful publications and research grants. The successful candidate must initiate and sustain internally and externally funded research in his/her area of expertise and publish research findings in reputed international journals. Skills in biostatistics and/or research methods are considered a plus.

Expected Skills

At least 2 years at the Assistant Professor rank as well as evidence of excellence in research publications, successful research grants, and diverse teaching experience to graduate and undergraduate students.
