The Psychology Department at Bucknell University invites applications for an assistant level, tenure-track faculty position in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, starting in August 2027. We seek an outstanding scholar-educator with a commitment and interest in teaching a diverse population of undergraduates, integrating high-impact educational experiences into courses, and a strong or promising record of scholarship.
The successful candidate will teach five courses per year, develop a strong body of scholarship in their field of specialization related to Clinical or Counseling Psychology, and participate in service activities at the departmental, college, and university levels, as well as the wider academic community. They will maintain an active research program that involves mentoring undergraduates and generates peer-reviewed publications.
As part of the five-course per year teaching load, the successful candidate will be expected to teach one 'foundational' class (PSYC100 Introductory, PSYC215 Statistics, or PSYC216 General Research Methods) as well as PSYC210 Psychopathology, an advanced research methods seminar, and an advanced seminar in the candidate's area of expertise. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to offer courses that contribute to the college core curriculum, such as Foundation seminars or Integrated Perspectives courses, and, if interested, to supervise Master's degree students in Experimental Psychology.
A Ph.D. or PsyD degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology is required by the start of the appointment. We welcome candidates who demonstrate excellence in reflective multicultural and inclusive teaching practices and who display a strong commitment to collaborative and interdisciplinary research and teaching.
