Candidates must have an earned Ph.D. in Sociology by the date of employment. Candidates must also have at least one scholarly work accepted for publication or have secured extra-institutional research funding.

The individual hired will be expected to teach undergraduate courses in quantitative methods, introduction to sociology (taught periodically as part of a rotational schedule), and upper-division sociology electives, as well as offering interdisciplinary courses in Lehigh’s Health, Medicine, and Society Program, including both the core course Medicine & Society and electives for advanced undergraduates. The individual hired must maintain an active program of research and participate in departmental, college, and university service. The selected candidate is expected to carry a standard teaching load of 2/2 and to demonstrate a commitment to evidence-based, inclusive teaching practices.
