About the Position
Socio-Cultural Understanding of Children and Youth
The Department of Child and Youth Studies at Brock University invites applications for a One-Year Instructional Limited Term Appointment position, effective July 1, 2026. The position is subject to budgetary approval and will entail teaching 8 half-credit courses per year. The courses to be taught are broadly grouped into the field of socio-cultural exploration in the lives of children and youth.

Qualifications
A scholar with a completed PhD in a discipline within Social Sciences and an expertise in a socio-cultural understanding of children and youth development and a demonstrated record of effective teaching. Areas of interest might include: children and youth, body/mind diversity, families and caregivers, children/youth mental health, youth justice, race, disability, among others. In addition to a demonstrated record of teaching, the successful candidate will have a potential or demonstrated record in interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, or transdisciplinary scholarship. Ideally, we are seeking candidates with research and teaching expertise with racialized groups and communities. Along with departmental service and undergraduate teaching and supervision, the successful candidate will be expected to support the graduate program in Child and Youth Studies.

The target hiring range for this position is $100,000 to $120,000. The final salary will be determined based on relevant experience, internal equity and budget considerations.
