Assistant Professor or Associate Professor of Pediatrics at CUMC

This opportunity to join the Department of Pediatrics at the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor is an exciting one. Columbia University Irving Medical Center, one of the nation’s foremost academic health science center’s working together with one of the nation’s premier health systems, New York-Presbyterian Hospital.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES
We are actively seeking a strong clinician to join the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases to work with our growing Pediatric Transplant & Immunocompromised Host (PITCH) Infectious Diseases team. We have an active and growing service that addresses all aspects of prevention and treatment of infection in this fascinating and challenging group of patients. Our service covers a variety of patients pre- and post-hematopoietic cell transplant , solid organ transplants (heart, liver, kidney, and intestine), patients receiving immunotherapy for autoimmune diseases as well as those with genetic diseases. We are eager to find a candidate with strong clinical, academic, and research expertise in immunocompromised hosts/transplant infectious diseases. There is also the opportunity to learn and participate in Infection Prevention & Control in this group of patients. As a major academic center, we have a Pediatric Infectious Diseases fellowship program and offer our fellows, residents, and medical students the opportunity to participate on the PITCH service with a dedicated PITCH track for interested fellows. Teaching and mentorship of fellows is expected of all faculty members and there are many opportunities for career growth and research projects in collaboration with transplant teams and subspecialty groups.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Participate in our PITCH program to address ID care for pediatric transplant and immunocompromised patients
- Pediatric ID inpatient and outpatient care
- Participate in resident and fellowship education
- Participate in clinical research

- Must have a MD or DO degree and an active NYS Medical License
- Must be Board certification in Pediatrics or Pediatric Infectious Diseases or an equivalent board certification with experience in Infectious Diseases with a clinical training in pediatrics.

Hiring Salary Range:
- Assistant Professor of Pediatrics ($195,000 - $203,216.22)
- Associate Professor of Pediatrics ($203,216.22 - $215,000)
