Assistant Professor, Psychiatric Mental Health - College of Nursing
Description
The College of Nursing at The University of Tennessee Chattanooga (UTC) seeks a full-time, 12-month faculty member for a tenure-earning position. The College of Nursing offers the BSN and DNP degrees in nursing and embraces the shared governance model and Boyer's model of scholarship.
Responsibilities:
- Teach, advise, and engage in scholarship activities primarily in the Doctor of Nursing Practice: Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program. If needed, this person may be asked to support the undergraduate Mental Health courses by teaching or overseeing clinical experiences for the traditional or accelerated BSN programs.
- Participate in the College of Nursing, university service, and/or professional service.
- Assist in monitoring and supporting learner success and collaborate with curriculum development and revision.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in psychiatric-mental health nursing as a PMHNP or FNP/AGNP with current employment in the psychiatric/mental health area, either as a clinician or faculty in a College of Nursing; Doctoral preparation in nursing or a related field.
- Will consider MSN if the applicant is in a doctoral program and will complete the degree within one year of employment.
- Clinical experience working with clients with psychiatric illness, serious mental illness, and/or substance abuse is preferred.
- Academic teaching experience preferred.
