This position is a teaching faculty position. The position will support the BSN Residential Pre-Licensure Program including teaching responsibilities in one or more of the following: residential classroom /executive format which may include lab, online courses, clinical instruction/supervision, student advising, scholarship, student projects, and clinical practice. This position will collaborate with the BSN lead Faculty, advisors, faculty support coordinator, program directors, and ultimately, the Chair of the residential pre-licensure program to support the BSN program and the Dean for the School of Nursing
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Position will support the BSN Undergraduate pre-licensure program including teaching responsibilities in one or more of the following: residential classroom /executive format which may include lab, online courses, clinical instruction/supervision, student advising, scholarship, student projects and clinical practice.
- Collaborates with the BSN lead Faculty, advisors, faculty support coordinator, program directors, and ultimately, the Chair of the residential pre-licensure program to support the BSN program and the Dean for the School of Nursing
- Teach lower and upper-level nursing courses and supervise hospital clinical experiences with lower and upper-level nursing students as qualified. Serve on nursing committees, assist with departmental projects, attend nursing functions such as BSN program meetings, LUSON meetings, Pinning ceremonies, Dedication ceremonies Nursing/University graduation ceremonies, and other required school or university events
- Provides direct supervision of designated students, consistent with the program and course learning objectives that includes advising, supervising, and evaluating BSN students. Provides direct support to BSN program Lead Faculty though the grading of clinical assignments of designated students.
- May be required to travel to local and distant clinical locations
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Education and Experience
- Graduate degree in nursing with preparation as a registered nurse at the baccalaureate level (BSN).
- PhD or EdD in a related field (Nursing Education/Education) or DNP preferred.
- Current and unencumbered Virginia Registered Nurse
- National Certification as applicable
- Current in clinical practice
- Experience in baccalaureate level instruction, scholarship, and clinical experience BSN students.
- Candidate will be professional with excellent personal communication and computer skills.
- 5 years of experience as an RN in a direct-care setting.
- Current certification in American Heart Association CPR for Healthcare Provider with AED.
- Experience teaching at the baccalaureate level.
- Experience in classroom/clinical student supervision.
- Committed to the evangelical standards and mission of Liberty University.
