The Department of Marketing and Management in the Austin E. Cofrin School of Business at the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Management with a specialization in Sports Management.
The Cofrin School of Business prioritizes teaching excellence, learner success, quality scholarship, engagement with the regional business community, and dedication to collaboration, institutional service, community engagement, and professional service. Professional experience in business or sports-related industries is viewed favorably. The successful candidate will join a growing school with expanding enrollment, strong regional partnerships, and a commitment to applied, high-impact learning.
This position contributes to undergraduate and graduate programs in Management while supporting the development of sports and event management curriculum. The successful candidate will be expected to engage with the region’s professional, semi-professional, and Division I athletic organizations to support experiential learning, applied projects, and community partnerships.

Key Job Responsibilities:
- Teach a variety of undergraduate and/or graduate courses in sports management, event management, and general management.
- Maintain an active program of scholarship consistent with rank, including peer-reviewed publications and collaborative research with faculty and students.
- Mentor students in the “transcripts to resumes” program.
- Build and sustain partnerships with regional professional, semi-professional, and Division I athletic organizations.
- Engage in institutional, community, and professional service.
- Contribute to curriculum innovation and program development within the Cofrin School of Business.
- Participate fully in AACSB accreditation activities, including societal impact initiatives aligned with sustainability.

Compensation: Competitive compensation commensurate with qualifications and experience.
This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Required Qualifications:
- Earned doctorate in management, sports management, or closely related field from an AACSB-accredited institution at time of application. Candidates who have not completed their doctorate by the start date will be hired into a terminal appointment at the rank of Instructor with a rate determined at the time of hire. Upon degree conferral, the title will change to Assistant Professor. The contract will not be renewed if the degree is not conferred by the end of the terminal appointment.
- Demonstrated or emerging record of scholarly activity appropriate to career stage, including peer-reviewed publications.
- Ability to teach foundational business and management courses.
- Evidence of effective and inclusive teaching.
- Evidence of engagement in institutional, community, or professional service.
Conditions of Appointment:
The home campus of this position is Green Bay. Courses will be taught both face-to-face and online (in asynchronous and synchronous formats).
Position is an academic year, tenure-track appointment. Applicants must be considered for tenure and promotion in six years, although tenure decisions may be at any time. Promotion from Assistant to Associate Professor is simultaneous with tenure. Excellence in teaching, sustained scholarly activity, and institutional service required for retention and promotion. A pre-employment education check which includes, but is not limited to, the verification of academic credentials will be conducted on the finalist(s). A criminal conviction investigation will be conducted on the finalist(s). In compliance with the Wisconsin Fair Employment Act, the university does not discriminate on the basis of arrest or conviction record. In addition, if the final selected candidate has prior work history within the last 7 years with Universities of Wisconsin, a personnel file review check for employee misconduct will be completed.
