The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse is seeking applicants for an academic year (9-month) tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor with the start date of August 2026.

Required Qualifications:

• Doctorate in statistics or related field. ABD will be considered. The degree must be earned by the end of the first academic year.
• Evidence of the ability to be an effective instructor.
• Evidence of clear and effective communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience of teaching in higher education.
• Evidence of ability to teach a broad range of courses in statistics.
• Evidence of an ability to involve students in research agenda.
• Evidence of ability to sustain on-going research at a teaching university.
• A demonstrated record of, or strong potential for, publication in peer-reviewed academic journals.
• Proficiency in programming languages typically used in statistics, such as R, Python, Julia, and SQL.
