Responsibilities

The job holder is expected to make useful contributions to fulfil the University's vision and mission. Specifically, the candidate is expected to:

• Develop and lead an innovative research programme of international quality
• Publish high quality papers in reputable peer-reviewed journals
• Secure competitive research grants and develop research programmes
• Supervise research personnel
• Contribute to teaching and course development at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels
• Supervise undergraduate and graduate students undertaking research projects.
• Undertake administrative and/or leadership roles.
• Contribute to other service-related activities assigned by School and University.
• Contribute to professional services

Qualifications

Candidates with the following qualifications are encouraged to apply:

• A Ph.D degree in Electrical Engineering or in a relevant discipline with an outstanding scholarship record and a strong commitment to excellence in research and teaching.
• Extensive knowledge of within his/her fields of research
• Ability and strong drive to lead and contribute to inter-disciplinary research and large-scale projects for key applications
• Evidence of a developing international reputation in his/her field of research, for example fellowships, awards, invited presentations at international conferences, journal editorships or otherwise.
• Established track record of academic publications of international quality.
• Proven track record of securing funding as Co-I or lead investigator.
