Position Duties
THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNICATION AND MEDIA AT LOYOLA UNIVERSITY MARYLAND invites applications for a one-year, full-time, non-tenure track visiting assistant teaching professor for academic year 26-27 (Fall semester start). Contract is renewable pending department needs.
We seek an expert in digital media who can teach video production, motion graphics, introductory computer animation, and other areas aligned with their expertise. The person hired for this position will be expected to teach 4 courses per academic semester. The successful candidate must also be able to hold dedicated office hours and participate in limited additional department service. The person hired for this position is eligible to receive full benefits, which can be found here. Compensation for this position ranges from $49,000 - 51,000 with non-terminal degree to $52,000 - 54,000 with terminal degree.
Required Qualifications: (1) M.A. (or M.F.A) degree in the Arts or Communication fields; (2) the ability to teach courses in digital media production and communication (3) prior teaching experience and evidence of teaching effectiveness; (4) professional experience in digital media production/design; (5) the ability to create a sense of inclusion and belonging in the classroom, and to infuse multicultural content into course material as appropriate; (6) strong commitment to excellence in teaching, including an appreciation of or engagement in high-impact teaching practices; (7) ability to contribute to the Jesuit educational mission of the department and university.
Desired Qualifications: At least 2 or more years professional experience in digital media production/design, especially in video production, animation, web or graphic design.

Final compensation offers are determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, job-related experience, internal equity, and alignment with organizational budget.
