Position Description Summary/Purpose
Goodwin University is seeking candidates for the position of the Assistant Vice President (AVP) for Institutional Effectiveness. This full-time position supports institutional decision-making, accreditation work, program development, strategic planning, and outcomes assessment by collecting, analyzing, and reporting on a wide variety of institutional analytics. The Associate Vice President will oversee the Division for Online Studies, and the work associated with maintaining the learning management system, supporting the online delivery of instruction. The position works closely with a broad range of internal and external constituents to carry out activities and ensure that results are incorporated into college planning and continuous improvement efforts. This position provides leadership for the ongoing and systemic collection, analysis, and interpretation of assessment data that influence institutional decision making and policy development, and oversight of the online learning division. This position has secondary responsibilities for supporting the development of external funding opportunities offered by state, federal, private, and corporate foundations, as well as supporting the annual budgeting process. This position will be located in East Hartford CT.
Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities
- Work collegially with a diverse community of internal and external constituents when responding to monthly, annual, and ad hoc data requests.
- Works with faculty, staff and institutional leaders to develop priorities and benchmarks that link planning with institutional/program improvement and monitors’ progress.
- Analyze academic and cocurricular assessment data, and use appropriate methods to report results, with particular emphasis on findings that influence institutional decision-making and policy development.
- Support institutional research team including a director and research analysts.
- Supervise staff roles leading and coordinating assessment and program development activities.
- Supervise staff roles leading and coordinating instructional D activities.
- Collaborate with faculty members and administrative staff on the preparation and development of research grant opportunities.
- Serve as point person for new program development, new accreditation activity, and expansion opportunities.
- Oversee organization and coordination of accreditation site visits.
- Consults with academic units in developing, measuring, and analyzing both student learning outcomes and performance outcomes as related to the campus Strategic Plan.
- Works with faculty and staff to develop models, measures, core indicators, and benchmarks that link planning with institutional/program improvement.
- Works with faculty and instructional and student services administrators to carry out effective program/function review and assessment processes; facilitates use of assessment results in unit and campus planning.
- Attend President’s Cabinet in lieu of divisional Vice President when requested.
- Perform additional duties assigned to advance the support for stakeholder decision-making.
