Assistant Women's Soccer Coach
Davidson College invites applications for the position of Assistant Women's Soccer Coach. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, training student-athletes; recruiting; scheduling; assisting with team travel; equipment management; and working with the head coach in directing all phases of a Division I program, including organizing and supervising all practices and games.
Job Duties:
- Assist on field and in classroom instruction of techniques and strategies; evaluate individual performances and provide leadership and instruction in areas of deficiencies as required.
- Participate in comprehensive recruiting activities; coordinate efforts with Admissions Office to establish academic eligibility and arrange meetings between prospects and College officials; recommend individuals for scholarships; ensure direct compliance by coaching staff, players, and recruits with NCAA, A10 Conference, and Davidson College athletics regulations, policies, and overall mission of amateurism.
- Coordinate preparations for team travel while on the road.
- Participate in the collection and analysis of tactical and statistical data of opponent teams; assist in designing game plans and strategies for Davidson teams.
- Coordinate usage of College facilities for playing teams to include field preparation, athletic equipment, uniforms, meeting rooms and practice fields as needed.
- Assist in planning and administering off-season physical training program; provide special training for individual team members as required.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations; at least one year of college coaching experience
- Experience training goalkeepers
- Possession of good interpersonal and communication skills, as well as good organizational skills.
Preferred Requirements:
- Goalkeeper coaching experience
- GK licenses, video editing, and video breakdown skills.
Skills, Training Knowledge:
- Experience in coaching college level players
- Good organizational and supervisory skills
- Ability to relate to students in a leadership role; and good people skills required.
- Understanding of student athletes in a demanding academic environment.
