The Position:
Athabasca University's Faculty of Business is seeking an Assistant/Associate Professor for a full-time tenure track position in Accounting. Candidates from all areas of Accounting are encouraged to apply. We prefer candidates whose research and teaching interests complement and augment our existing departmental strengths. Preference will be given to applicants who have used AI in teaching and curriculum development. We invite applicants who have a research interest in contemporary accounting issues.
Research Component:
The academic remains current in the accounting discipline and contributes to the accounting discipline by means of such activities as original research, publication, editorials, referencing work, etc.
Teaching Component:
The academic is responsible for all aspects of delivery of his/her courses. In fulfilling this role, may, rely upon tutors, markers, instructors, seminar leaders or support staff.
Service Component:
The academic contributes to the administration work of the university, including its councils and committees and provides expertise to the work of groups and agencies of the wider community and public as appropriate.
Qualifications:
Successful applicants will have or be near completion of a PhD or DBA in Accounting and have a Professional Accounting Designation. Candidates should have appropriate professional/industry experience, have a strong record of teaching experience, a research profile in their field and evidence of the ability or potential to produce high quality accounting research publications.
