Understands accreditation standards and expectations specific
to the department and adheres to policies and procedures to meet or
exceed such standards
Qualifications:
- Professional degree (DO, MD) from an accredited institution of
higher education
- Completion of a Primary Care (Family Medicine, Internal
Medicine, Pediatrics), Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, or
Preventive Medicine residency, and are currently board eligible or
board certified
- Candidates who have completed subspecialty training in a
recognized subspecialty and currently BE/BC by appropriate
specialty board(s) will also be seriously considered
- Current or eligible for licensure in the state of Missouri and
Kansas
- Current or eligible for BNDD/DEA certification
- Current or eligible for a hospital appointment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Interest in clinically serving the underserved population
- Prior teaching experience in an academic setting
- Knowledge of instructional technologies
- Experience with curricular and instructional design, and
training or experience in educational theory and/or evaluation
- Experience using innovative teaching methods and/or a
willingness to utilize the learning sciences as they apply to
medical education. These methods may include presentation-based
education, team-based learning, "flipped classroom", distance
learning (synchronous and asynchronous), interactive large group
presentation, audience response systems, curriculum delivery
systems, simulation-based instruction and proficiency in assessment
and exam item writing (COMLEX and USMLE-style questions)
