The Department of History is inviting applications for a full-time Assistant Professor or above to start in September 2026. Rank will be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and achievements. Candidates should have a doctorate degree in history or related fields and demonstrate the ability to effectively teach at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels while pursuing an active research agenda. The field of specialization is imperial China, history of Hong Kong, history of education, and/or digital humanities. Preference will be given to those applicants who have at least two years of teaching experience and a good track record in research and publication. Proficiency in English is required.

Hong Kong Shue Yan University is the first private school in Hong Kong, with a student body of around 5,000 and a diversity of international academic staff, ranked by QS within the range of 300-350 and located on the top of Braemar Hill over the beautiful Victorian Bay.
