Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job
The Department of Psychology and Philosophy in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Sam Houston State University invites applications for a tenure-track open-rank Professor position in its NASP-approved specialist program in School Psychology to begin in the Fall 2027 semester. Educational Requirements for the Position
Research and applied interests are open. Successful candidates are required to hold a doctoral degree in School Psychology from an APA-accredited and/or NASP-approved program by the time of appointment, be eligible for licensure as both a Psychologist and Licensed School Psychologist in the state of Texas, and demonstrate evidence of or strong potential for scholarship in areas relevant to school psychology. Applications from individuals who are ABD will be considered, but the doctoral degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.
Experience Required for the Position
The preferred candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience as a school psychologist practitioner and the potential for acquiring extramural funding. Candidates must be committed to a student-centered approach and passionate about working with students from all backgrounds. Applications from individuals who are ABD will be considered, but the doctoral degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.
