Position Summary
The Indiana University School of Medicine's Department of Surgery, Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery, is seeking a full-time Cardiovascular Surgeon with specialized training in Transplantation and Mechanical Circulatory Support to join our highly skilled multidisciplinary team in the Indianapolis Metro Region. Applicants should have experience in teaching residents and fellows, and passion for caring for complex cardiovascular patients.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing advanced adult cardiovascular surgical operations including complex coronary revascularization, valve repair and replacement, mechanical circulatory support and ECMO procedures as well as cardiac transplant, lung transplant, and procurement operations. They will support and contribute to a growing practice with highly collaborative and interdependent quality systems in place for successful patient outcomes. This is a full-time faculty position; salary and academic rank will be commensurate with experience.
Job Duties
- Provide patient care in Cardiovascular Surgery, Cardiothoracic transplantation and mechanical circulatory support.
- Support and contribute to a growing collaborative Academic practice, Cardiovascular Institute and the Mission of Indiana University Health and School of Medicine.
- Participate in scholarly activity, resident education, and system-wide quality initiatives.
