Associate Director Academically Talented Youth Program
Job Description:
- Provides leaders and vision for the Academically Talented Youth Program (ATYP). Develops programs and activities. Researches best practices and trends to enhance programs and services. Evaluate program consistently to determine effectiveness of services.
- Supervises program staff. Oversees the daily function, including hiring, supervision, training, and evaluation of professional and student staff, as well as development and implementation of polices and procedures for the program.
- Teaches an ATYP course yearly.
- Ensures the program curriculum meets Michigan public school requirements for content and quality. Develops and refines curriculum to meet benchmarks. Schedules classes to meet the needs of students. Selects and purchases necessary textbooks with input from instructors.
- Ensures financial and budgetary accountability of program to seek new funding opportunities and enhance programming and provide stability and sustainability. Provides budgetary support, including monitoring, tracking, reconciliation, forecasting, and recommendation of budget allocations. Prepares and analyzes budget reports.
- Serves as program liaison between department and campus partners, community and external partners. Represents the program to the campus community, as well as external community, the State of Michigan and nationally.
- Assists the director of Pre-College Programming as needed to address the needs and direction of department.
- Remains knowledgeable of all changes to program requires and national tends pertinent to gifted education.
- Acts as Advanced Placement Coordinator.
Short Job Description:
- Master's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
- Three years' relevant experience.
- Experience with gifted students and/or directing a program for gifted students
- Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including weekends and holidays.
