Williams College seeks a talented and experienced Associate Director of Alumni Engagement for Regional Programs to architect and grow comprehensive engagement for alumni in more than 60 active, volunteer-led regional associations around the world. The Associate Director will travel extensively to meet with alumni, working to strengthen the college's network, cultivate volunteerism and support, and produce high-impact events.
A creative, energetic, and empathetic team, the Office of Alumni Engagement seeks a colleague with an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to manage a high volume of programs, stakeholders, and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates should have a strong background in volunteer management, program design and event execution, marketing and communications, and data-informed engagement strategy.
Responsibilities
- Designing and implementing the overarching strategy for the regional association framework through a tiered engagement model
- Traveling extensively to meet with alumni
- Managing the comprehensive volunteer lifecycle
- Architecting and producing high-stakes, high-impact events
- Co-creating anchor programs
- Overseeing delivery of strategic logistical support
- Serving as the lead communicator for the regional portfolio
- Identifying and piloting innovative engagement models
- Partnering strategically with colleagues
- Adapting programming to meet the interests of young alumni and diverse populations
- Aligning regional event calendars with institutional priorities
Qualifications
- At least a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
- Experience managing very large groups of volunteers
- Excellent communication, marketing, and brand management skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Organizational and problem solving skills
- Comfort in a digital environment
- Ability to transport supplies and travel extensively
Hybrid on-site/remote work arrangements may be available for up to 2 days of remote work per week for employees based in MA, NY, CT, or VT.
Pay range is $80,000 - $90,000, commensurate with experience.
