Position: Associate Director of Financial Aid (PCN 01155612)
Classification: MnSCU Academic Professional 3
Starting Date: Approximately January 21, 2026 (negotiable)
Appointment: Full-Time, Unlimited
Salary Range: $28.26 - $41.43/hour ($59,007 - $86,506/annual)

Responsibilities
This role provides leadership in administering the college’s financial aid programs, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations. It involves implementing new aid initiatives, maintaining accurate records, and coordinating with campus departments to align processes with department and college strategic goals while supporting students in achieving their educational objectives.
Key responsibilities include awarding and disbursing aid, advising students and families, resolving eligibility issues, and overseeing compliance areas such as Satisfactory Academic Progress and Return of Title IV Funds. The position also trains and guides staff, manages audits and reviews, and serves as the institutional representative in the Director’s absence.
Minimum Qualifications
Two years of progressively responsible work experience in financial, business, or educational setting. Applicants with an Associate’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or another related Business degree can substitute for six months of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Management, or another business-related degree.
- Knowledge of FERPA policies and data practices.
- Knowledge of Federal and State regulations and ability to research, interpret and apply the regulations to practices in the financial aid department.
- Work experience assisting a Financial Aid Director in an educational institution.
- Experience using ISRS (Integrated Student Registration System) and Department of Education software.
- Experience in public speaking to give group presentations.
- Demonstrated communication skills (verbal and written).
- Knowledge of diverse cultures and populations.
