Associate Director of Gender Violence Prevention and the Sexuality, Women, and Gender Center
Job Summary
The Associate Director of Gender Violence Prevention and SWAG will be responsible for designing and implementing campus programs and events related to sexual and relationship violence prevention, consent, bystander intervention, and healthy relationships. This position is also responsible for overseeing the Peer Educator program and supporting the group's work focused on sexual health education and relationship violence prevention.
Embedded within the Sexuality, Women and Gender Center, this position will work closely with student leaders and student workers to support the centers' initiatives, programs, and campus engagement efforts. The Associate Director will need to skillfully engage in conversations about sexual violence, relationship violence, and consent while referring individuals to appropriate offices and resources. Close collaboration with the Title IX Office and confidential campus resources is essential to success.
Essential Functions
- Sexual & relationship violence prevention program design: Ability to design, implement, and assess campus-wide prevention education and events focused on consent, healthy relationships, bystander intervention, and survivor support.
- Training and facilitation expertise: Skilled at developing and delivering student trainings (including orientation programming) on sexual violence prevention, consent education, and bystander intervention using trauma-informed, inclusive practices.
- Peer educator leadership and supervision: Experience recruiting, training, supervising, and developing peer educators/student staff to deliver prevention and sexual health education with strong coaching, feedback, and accountability practices.
- Cross-campus collaboration & Title IX partnership: Demonstrated ability to partner closely with a Title IX Office and confidential resources to support coordinated prevention education, training initiatives, and effective resource navigation for students.
- Sensitive communication and resource referral: Ability to engage skillfully in complex conversations about sexual and relationship violence and consent, while making appropriate referrals and maintaining clear boundaries aligned with role and campus protocols.
