Bachelors plus 2-3 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

- Knowledge of adolescent and young adult growth and development.

- Ability to accurately implement physician's orders.
- Ability to make medical and health assessments and apply nursing practices and processes.
- Commitment to diversity and to serving the needs of a diverse community.
- Experience in physical assessment and triage.
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing or the equivalent.
- BSN or BS in related field.
- Current registration with the New Hampshire Board of Nursing.
- Certification in CPR and AED.
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory/leadership experience in Nursing within the past 5 years.
Preferred Qualifications
- Venipuncture and phlebotomy skills.
- Must be able to work all shifts.
- Experience in college health, community health, and/or psychiatric nursing desirable.
Job Duties
Utilizes the nursing process to develop nursing care plans and provides individualized nursing care to inpatients in the Student Health Service Infirmary. (35%)
Conducts physical and/or mental health assessment, triage, and treatment of ill and injured students presenting themselves for after-hours care. (20%)
Maintains accurate and legally viable nursing record for assessment, patient care, treatment and medications, including required records for controlled substances. (5%)
Communicates and coordinates care with Providers, the office of the Dean of Students, the Department of Safety and Security, and the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. (5%)
Assists the Director of Nursing with developing and managing the staff schedule, department protocol development and review, annual nursing orientation and termly education days, and performance evaluations. (30%)
Provides leadership and guidance in the Director's absence. (5%)
