Associate Director (Strategic Relations), External Relations
Job Description
The Associate Director in the Strategic Relations business unit plays a crucial role in representing the school in senior engagement and relationship management. This position has a strong focus on identifying new opportunities through establishing corporate contacts, and nurturing relationships with senior level academia and industrial alliances. The individual will be required to proactively engage both local and regional alliances to build a potential pipeline of industry and university partners to further collaboration opportunities.
We are seeking a self-driven individual with proven ability in proactively engaging and fostering alliances to enhance partnership opportunities. The individual should be comfortable navigating ambiguity, maintaining a results-driven outlook, and embracing innovation to achieve desired outcomes.
Strategic Implementation of Global Initiatives
- Lead regional engagement initiatives with overseas universities, e.g. summer school programme
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to jointly increase brand and programme level awareness in key markets through outreach efforts
Corporate Engagement and Stakeholder Mapping
- Manage international relations which include identifying, optimizing and developing strategic partnerships with large regional organizations and institutions to expand global market reach and engagement
- Drive the development of a robust pipeline of industry alliances, both locally and globally (with a stronger focus on global outreach)
- Develop outreach efforts by identifying senior contacts within target organisations and initiate programmes with view to increase number of academia and corporate partnerships
- Develop and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders and generate high level opportunities for potential collaborations and partnerships effectively
Stakeholder Management
- Adopt a collaborative approach in engaging and influencing key internal stakeholders to support larger school goals in additional to their individual programme office objectives
Events Planning
- Strategic planning of selected events that aligns with the Business School’s vision. This includes conceptualisation of the programme flow, invitation of appropriate guest speaker, engagement activities, liaison with stakeholders and the overall management control of logistics and budget.
Qualifications

- Possess more than 15 years of relevant experiences
- Proven competencies in business development and demonstrated success in driving account growth
- Strong leadership profile with excellent interpersonal skills across organisational hierarchy and ability to work effectively with a diverse community
- Able to communicate effectively with senior level B2B - lead generation through business closing and represent the university professionally in all interactions
