Associate in Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery (Speech Language Pathologist)

The Department of Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons is seeking a full-time Speech Language Pathologist at the Associate in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery level. We are looking for an individual with experience in the evaluation and treatment of voice, swallowing and upper airway disorders. We are a multidisciplinary center that provides care in an outpatient clinical setting in the heart of New York City. Our patient population includes the pediatric population and professional voice users, as well as adults across the lifespan. While the position is for a full-time clinical specialist, we support and encourage motivated individuals to lead or participate in research with the opportunity for multiple days of protected research time with support and mentorship toward grant funding. 

Clinical Responsibilities

Competence in administering and interpreting standardized assessments, therapeutic techniques and interventions, moderate experience in collecting and documenting client data, moderate experience collaborating with other professionals and stakeholders involved in client care.

Minimum Degree Required

  • Masters in Speech Language Pathology, NY State Licensure

Minimum Qualifications

  • Candidates must have the ASHA CCC and be eligible for New York licensure.
  • Applicants must have experience in the evaluation and treatment of voice, swallowing, and upper airway disorders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a collaborative member of Laryngology assessment and treatment multidisciplinary team is preferred.
  • Candidates should be familiar with the following therapies and procedures: laryngeal imaging (flexible and rigid videostroboscopy), acoustic and aerodynamic assessment, up-to-date physiologic voice and dysphagia therapy skills, and instrumental dysphagia assessment (FEES and MBSS).
