Associate or Full Professor in Democratic and Community Resilience in Educational Contexts (Canada Impact+ Research Chair)
The Faculty of Education of the Université de Montréal is recruiting, as part of the 2026 Canada Impact+ Research Chairs Program competition, a professor at the rank of Associate or Full Professor in the Department of Psychopedagogy and Andragogy. The position focuses on developing research and teaching in democratic and community resilience in educational contexts through the analysis of activity in learning situations, emphasizing individual agency and collaborative research approaches.
This position is contingent on obtaining a Canada Impact+ Research Chair ($1 million per year for 8 years). Expected start date: June 1st, 2027. Located at the Montreal Campus.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
- Leverage leadership on democratic and community resilience in alignment with Government of Canada’s priorities.
- Foster co-creation with partners and mobilize research results.
- Opportunity for CFI funding.
- Teach at all levels, supervise students, lead projects, contribute to departmental life.
Qualifications:
- Eligible for Canada Impact+ Chairs; PhD in relevant education field.
- Outstanding expertise and international recognition in the field.
- Strong leadership, ability to lead teams, interdisciplinary teaching and collaboration.
- French proficiency or commitment to learn per UdeM policy.
