Associate or Full Professor (Tenure Track) / Canada Research Chair (CRC) Tier 1 in Family Medicine

The McGill University Department of Family Medicine in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences invites applications for a full-time position at the rank of Associate or Full Professor (Tenure Track) in conjunction with a Canada Research Chair (CRC) Tier 1. This is a special priority call for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis scholars.

The Department is dedicated to deepening its engagement with Indigenous communities and expanding its leadership, research, and teaching capacity in areas relevant to Indigenous health. Applications are invited from scholars who integrate experience and expertise in Indigenous knowledges, epistemologies, methodologies, histories, traditions, languages, or systems of laws and governance. CBPR methods are encouraged.

Job Duties: The successful candidate will be actively involved in academic activities, demonstrate excellence in research, pedagogy, and supervision. Maintain an ambitious research program in family medicine/primary healthcare, disseminate findings via publications and knowledge translation. Contribute to teaching graduate courses, develop courses, supervise students, contribute to department life, and develop Indigenous academic leadership. Involved in research, teaching, supervision, and committees. Service activities and commitment to EDI expected.

Qualifications:

• PhD or medical degree with research training or equivalent expertise in Indigenous health.
• Formal research training and track record.
• Evidence of scholarly excellence, potential for funding.
• Proven research productivity.
• High-quality teaching and inclusive pedagogy.
• Internationally recognized research program, grant obtaining ability.
• Collaborative skills.
• Fluency in English; French preferred.
