Main tasks:
Research:
- Conduct independent and innovative world-class research in the field of exercise and environmental physiology (e.g., hypoxia, heat, gravity, etc.).
- Strengthen and complement current research and teaching programs in exercise physiology at ISSUL.
Teaching:
- Participate in teaching at ISSUL at both Bachelor and Master levels and supervise doctoral theses within the “Life Sciences” and “Sport” doctoral schools.
- Contribute to thesis supervision and serve on MD, PhD, and MD-PhD thesis committees, as well as in doctoral programs.
- Organize and participate in internal and external seminars, workshops, and related activities.
Administration & Management
- Carry out administrative duties as required within the scope of the position at the Institute, Faculty, University, and broader academic coordination levels.
- Contribute to the governance of ISSUL.
Desired profile:
- PhD or MD-PhD in the field of sport sciences, exercise physiology, human physiology
- Specialization or experience in exercise and environmental physiology (an asset).
- Professorial-level academic expertise and experience, with a proven track record in research and the ability to establish research programs capable of securing competitively peer-reviewed external funding and producing publications in leading international journals.
- Proven pedagogical skills at a professorial level with confirmed teaching experience in physiology.
- Advanced managerial skills (management of various teams and projects).
- Preference will be given to a personality open to communication and cooperation, able to stimulate young colleagues.
- Proficiency in French (level at least B2, C1 ideally) or ability to acquire it quickly to effectively teach it.
The successful candidate will receive installation credit as well as an annual research and consumable endowment in a dynamic research environment.
