Associate Professor (or Professorship) of Statistics

Applications are invited for the post of Associate Professor of Statistics, to be held in the Department of Statistics. The successful candidate will also be appointed to a Tutorial Fellowship at Jesus College. The position is offered on a permanent basis. The post will be based at the Department of Statistics.

The successful candidate will have a doctorate in Statistics or a related discipline, and an outstanding research record, as well as the potential to attract research funding. The Department seeks candidates with interests in any field of Statistical research, which integrates well with research by current members of the department. They will have the skills and enthusiasm to lecture at undergraduate and graduate levels, over a wide range of topics within Statistics, and to supervise students. Early and mid-career academics are encouraged to apply.

The postholder will join the dynamic and collaborative Department of Statistics. The Department carries out world-leading research in computational statistics, machine learning, theoretical statistics, and probability as well as applied statistics fields, including statistical and population genetics, bioinformatics, econometrics, statistical epidemiology and statistical finance.
