The Psychology and Child & Human Development (PCHD) Department is dedicated to developing evidence-based competencies in psychologists, counsellors, educators, and education specialists. Our faculty has expertise spanning educational and school psychology, counselling psychology, teacher education, early childhood education, special and inclusive education, learning sciences, motivation, cognitive science, and mental health.

We invite applications for an Associate Professor (Teaching) position in Educational/ School Psychology. This is a non-tenure-track appointment. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching across undergraduate, graduate, and professional education programmes, and engage in research related to the scholarship of teaching and learning.

Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • A PhD in psychology or a closely related field, with specialisation in educational or school psychology.
  • At least 4 years of an excellent teaching record, including innovative approaches and use of educational technology.
  • Demonstrated ability and commitment to teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Eligibility for registration or current registration with Singapore Register of Psychologists.

The following will be advantageous:

  • Experience supervising graduate students (master’s and/or doctoral level).
  • A record of practice-based or applied research with publications in reputable international journals.
  • Success in securing research funding as Principal Investigator.
  • Leadership or administrative experience in academic settings.
  • Familiarity with, or ability to adapt to, diverse education systems and cultural contexts.
  • Willingness to contribute to interdisciplinary teaching and collaboration.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Teach and develop courses at undergraduate, graduate, and professional development levels.
  • Conduct research that informs educational practice and policy, particularly in teaching and learning.
  • Build an active research programme and publish in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
  • Establish collaborations with local and international academic and professional communities.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, programme leadership, and institutional initiatives.
  • Undertake administrative responsibilities and service within the department and institution.
  • Share expertise through seminars, workshops, and collaborative platforms.

  4. Research Impact Statement (up to 5 pages)

Applicants should demonstrate the significance and impact of their research by addressing the following: Key Contributions, Evidence of Impact, Academic Impact, Societal/Policy/Industry Impact (if applicable), Research Identity, Contribution and Leadership, Future Impact.

5. Teaching Impact Statement (up to 3 pages)

Applicants should demonstrate their impact on student learning and education by addressing: How have you enhanced student learning and engagement? What teaching innovations or improvements have you implemented, and why? How do you promote interdisciplinary thinking? How do you incorporate experiential and collaborative learning? How have you contributed to a positive teaching culture?
